Life dedicated to art

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1977, Aleks Yuzev has built an international career in contemporary art, raising questions about the contrast between desire and fulfillment, isolation and hope.

In the calm of his studio, with its sweeping views of Vitosha mountain, he sculpts his unique forms for several hours a day, striving to encapsulate their meaining and deep symbolism.

His works are widely exhibited in contemporary art galleries and at art fairs across Europe.

Artwork process at Gito.Art

Act I

Creation

Our artworks originate from buon fresco, a classical painting method used in ancient Rome and perfected during the Renaissance, where pigments are applied onto freshly laid plaster so that the colors become part of the wall itself. Renowned Bulgarian contemporary artist Aleksandar Yuzev revives this historic approach to create the original artworks that form the foundation of every Gito Art piece.

ACT II

Reflection

Once completed, the fresco is photographed by acclaimed photographer Dilian Markov, whose mastery of light and detail captures the texture and depth of the original artwork from an entirely new perspective.

ACT III

Impression

This photograph is then transformed into a museum-quality Art Print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper (310 g), producing a remarkable Premium Print that preserves every nuance of the original fresco.

ACT IV

Experience

The final work is not merely a reproduction — it is a limited collectible artwork, designed as striking wall art and sophisticated home decor.

Why Buon Fresco?

Buon fresco is a painting technique that has shaped the visual language of Western art for centuries. Used in ancient Roman villas and perfected during the Renaissance by masters such as Giotto, Michelangelo, and Raphael, the process involves applying pigments directly onto fresh plaster.

As the plaster dries, the color becomes permanently embedded within the surface, giving fresco its unmistakable depth, softness, and timeless character. This demanding technique requires precision, patience, and mastery—qualities that make each fresco inherently unique.

At Gito Art, we begin with this historic method to create artworks rooted in tradition before transforming them into contemporary collectible pieces.
